Kaleidoscope Tent
We pride ourselves on being family-friendly at Stockton Weekender and this years Kaleidoscope Tent is full to the brim of great activities for kids, and even big kids.
We’re got a little something for everyone…
SINGING (Ran by Apollo Arts) - Fun and friendly sing-a-long with live piano accompaniment. Learn some handy tips and basic vocal techniques, which will have everyone singing like the pros. Saturday & Sunday 1-2pm
DRUMS - Percussion workshops for all plus the chance to perform - come feel the noise! Saturday 3:30-4:30pm & 5-6pm and Sunday 2-3pm & 4-5pm.
DANCE (Ran by Apollo Arts) - Using funky upbeat tunes, learn quick and easy routines, which will get you grooving. Saturday 2-3pm & Sunday 3:30-4:30pm.
FESTIVAL ARTS (Ran by Apollo Arts) – Draw, sketch or paint your festival experience and have your work displayed as part of a collage.. Participants will also design and create their own unique festival masks, which can be taken away with them at the end of workshop. Saturday 3-4:30pm & Sunday 2-3:30pm
SONGWRITING – Learn the basics of song writing with musician Dan Donnelly (who you can catch in the Cabaret Tent on Sat 4 Aug) and get to work on a masterpiece! Saturday 1:30-3pm
BAD ART - Those lovely chaps at Peg Powler Gallery are hosting a Bad Art Workshop - a fun and informal alternative drawing workshop. Saturday 5:30-7pm
DRAMA - Enter a workshop of make-believe scenes; participants are invited to
create scenes and scenarios using make-believe characters and random props. Saturday & Sunday 4:30-6pm
FILMMAKING (Ran by Apollo Arts) - Become the Weekenders roving reporter! Participants will create a short script or some interview style questions, and take a camera into the crowds for some exclusive news and reviews from the ‘Weekender’ crowd. Saturday & Sunday 4:30-6pm
BALLOON MODELLING - Join Tom Rolfe of Defying Gravity for some awe inspiring balloon sculpting magic! You'll also see Tom roaming the festival site showing off his juggling skills!
FACEPAINTING - A family tent wouldn’t be complete without the chance to turn yourself into a tiger, butterfly or a Dalmatian! Our face painters will be around during tent opening times for all your facial design needs.
